Kathryn Bigelow, whose last big screen film was the stunning The Hurt Locker, is no stranger to controversial and disturbing subject matter. Witness her latest: Zero Dark Thirty. This film promises us a look at the “largest manhunt in history” as American and allied forces hunt down and eventually kill Osama bin Laden over the course of a decade. Wisely slotted to debut after the election in November, it will be interesting to see how this film resonates with a public still sensitive to 9/11 subject matter.
