Reserve your movies online

The time is growing ever closer for being able to check inventory in your local Redbox dvd machine – and even reserve what you want to see before going down to the box.

Redbox announced that starting Sept 25, we will be able to goto www.redbox.com to view and reserve our movies.

This is great news and I know many of us have been waiting for this.

It’s on their website, http://www.redbox.com, there’s a little corner in the flash that says beta version in the st. louis area. i assume it’s not available anywhere else so if i were you i wouldn’t try it unless you live in st. louis…

You cannot use codes online. Only at a redbox.

I am in the Twin Cities area and just tried the new feature this morning — the website is PAINFULLY slow. I was able to do my email and shop on ebay, take a potty break and play an online game in the time it took the site to load my ONE movie. (I have a business connection on my computer — it is usually very fast on everything – I can’t blame my connection or my computer)

I had planned on renting a couple of movies but ended up with only one because I had go get to an appointment and could not wait for another movie to load. I could have driven over to Mickeys and rented the movies in person in the same amount of time it took to rent one online.

I know this is in beta testing, but there is no feedback link — too bad! The concept is terrific but the site is slow, slow slow…….

I am in Baltimore, I cannot get their webpage to load since yesterday evening. Then it was painfully slow. Now it doesn’t load at all. I went to two kiosks this morning and they would not accept codes at all, kiosks machines running painfully slow as well.

Available in Salt Lake City areas now too. I don’t really need the online holding system, but it is extremely nice to know what’s out there so you don’t waste your time driving out there. I’ve been trying to find the 2nd disc of Lost season 2 for ages, and this morning, I was finally able to find the exact location it was at online! Drove over there and sure enough, there it was. Love it.

I don’t understand where to go online to reserve your copies, or find which store has the movie you want… I am in the SLC area, and I’m completely confused.

Can anyone direct me to the right place for reserving online?

    V,

If you go to redbox.com you will see 4 big categories at the top
    – THE BIG PICTURE
    – REDBOX TITLES
    – REDBOX LOCATIONS
    – RENT ONLINE

You can start renting by clicking on REDBOX TITLES or REDBOX LOCATIONS.

    1) REDBOX TITLES
    – Select a title you’re interested in, scroll to the bottom of that title details page and you should see the text “IF YOU’D LIKE TO RENT ENTER YOUR ZIP CODE:” and the box, you enter your ZIP and click CONTINUE.
    – you should see a list of available locations (if there’s any kiosk with that title available around the ZIP that you entered)

    2) REDBOX LOCATIONS
    – Enter your ZIP in the box and select the # miles you wanna search within that ZIP
    – you should see a list of available locations and select VIEW TITLES HERE of the location that you’re interested and proceed from there

    Cheers!!
