Welcome to another edition of Inside Redbox’s Preview Review, where we recap the movies that will be coming out in theaters this weekend. The goal of this feature is to help you make your weekend movie-watching plans, as well as to note movies that you want to Redbox in a few months when they come out on DVD.
An eclectic mix of movies are coming your way in wide release this week. Previews and the official trailers for Paranormal Activity 3, The Three Musketeers, The Mighty Macs and Johnny English Reborn are after the break.
Paranormal Activity 3
The creative forces behind the first two PA films are back with a prequel. Expect more of the series’ patented high tension/low gore ratio that has made it such a standout success in the normally blood-splattered horror genre. Rated R.
The Three Musketeers
Each retelling of the classic Dumas story seems to play faster and looser with the original story. This steampunked version seems to follow the trend, with epic air battles and explosions galore. Rated PG-13.
The Mighty Macs
Based on a true story, this film tells the tale of a Catholic women’s basketball team who went from no-name to fame. Rated G.
Johnny English Reborn
The rubber-faced Rowan Atkinson returns with a second installment in his spy-spoof series. Think of it as a more family-friendly Austin Powers flick. Rated PG.
You’ve got lots of choices at the cinema this weekend, Insiders. What’ll it be?
Maybe PA3 maybe the Musketeers but definitely not Johnny English.
