Welcome to another edition of Inside Redbox’s Preview Review, where we recap the movies that will be coming out in theaters this weekend. The goal of this feature is to help you make your weekend movie-watching plans, as well as to note movies that you want to Redbox in a few months when they come out on DVD.
After just one new film last week, the studios have come roaring back this week, with four films opening in wide release. Previews and the official trailers for Beauty and the Beast 3D, Contraband, Joyful Noise and The Iron Lady are after the break.
Beauty and the Beast 3D
The Disney classic is back in theaters after a two-decade absence. Will this film do as well as The Lion King did in 3D a few months ago? Rated G.
Contraband
Mark Wahlberg stars in this thriller about a man forced to revisit his criminal past in order to save a close relative. If you replace the contraband with cars, this film seems to greatly resemble Gone in 60 Seconds. Rated R.
Joyful Noise
Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton lead the cast of this Sister Act meets Glee musical comedy. Rated PG-13
The Iron Lady
Meryl Streep is a dead ringer for the UK’s first and only female prime minister. Can the film live up to the stirring subject matter? Rated PG-13.
Will any of this week’s new releases lure you into theaters this weekend, Insiders?
My daughters want to see Beauty and the Beast.
