Welcome to another edition of Inside Redbox’s Preview Review, where we recap the movies that will be coming out in theaters this weekend. The goal of this feature is to help you make your weekend movie-watching plans, as well as to note movies that you want to Redbox in a few months when they come out on DVD.
After a week of theatrical doldrums, Hollywood has come storming back with two new films opening in wide release this weekend. Previews and the official trailers for The Sitter and New Year’s Eve are after the break.
New Year’s Eve
Like Valentine’s Day and Love Actually before it, New Year’s Eve attempts to take the stories of an enormous number of characters and combine them into a coherent film. This movie stars just about everyone—DeNiro even shows up at the end of the trailer. Rated PG-13
The Sitter
A pre-weight loss Jonah Hill treads Vin Diesel The Pacifier territory in this new comedy. Expect a lot of rude and crude humor. Rated R.
Will you be headed out to the theater to see either of these films this weekend, Insiders?
Maybe The Sitter; definitely not New Year’s Eve. Those movies always have too much of the people I don’t like and not enough of the ones I do.
