PS: More changes will be coming soon to improve the reliability. Someone who has a competing site tried to sabotage my site today. Some of you may have noticed the codes were missing and some weird ads were in place of it for a few hours today. The problem has been fixed now, and I will do my best to keep it that way.
I have a suggestion. If you find out that a code has expired or isn’t working, we need to find a section to post those codes. I think that would be very helpful because other customers won’t be sitting behind you waiting, while you keep trying codes.
I LOVE IT KEEP IT GOING
I agree with Sarah. Currently in the status there is an option that says “Not Working”. Is it possible to list all the codes with that checked, just like there is a list for each city? Great work though, keep it up!
I think maybe giving people the ability to add “codes” to the code section is a bad idea. I mean just look at it and you can see it’s a bunch of ignorant people leaving their names rather than leaving a working code. Come on, does anyone think Larry, Joe, and Mark are codes that will get you a free movie? The site is great, it’s just got that one problem.
kain,
While you make a valid point about the possibility of people leaving fake codes, it doesn’t happen too often. In fact, all of the codes you mentioned are indeed working codes in many markets. Plus, the system is self-policing. If you find a code that is not working, then you can notify the system of that.
Also, to Sarah, there is a place to tell us which codes are not working in your market. Feel free to tell us of any “Not working” codes by selecting that option from the form.
Tom, yes I can do something like that, and I am currently testing something that will do that and more. So, stay tuned and keep reporting codes that are both working and not working…
Thanks to everyone. All of you are what makes this site a success!
Michael
I just used Kasey today – And it worked great…. Do you think the redbox officals will catch on – and stop offering a promo code to even be used?
AWESOME!
Could you please explain your scoring system?
Love the site! What does the “score” next to each code mean? I notice it skyrockets when I enter that a certain code is still working and then slowly goes back down
I have added an explanation of the new code score to the Redbox codes page.
Michael, great site — love the new page. Thanks for all of your work on it. The page formats great when accessing from my blackberry too, so no need to copy down the codes on paper or print them out any more. Much appreciation!
Hi there,
This site it cool, and I all ways come here to see this site.
Michael-
thanks for helping broke college students everywhere !!!!
Michael,
While you addressed Kain’s concern about “fake” codes (1/14/06), what about fake, offensive codes? A month or so ago, some ass-clown posted the code “NIGGER.†It was several days before it was removed from the list. Reluctantly, I tried it to see what happened. I was glad to find it failed. Can you say “Law Suit?” Is there any way to incorporate a screening process?
Thanks,
Chris
Michael,
Great site, been telling friends about this place. Would be interesting to set up a mailing list for people in different markets to try codes from other markets to see if they work in their market.
Person A in SLC would be assigned to try a code that is listed as working in WDC and then would report the results. This should widen the knowledge of when a code works in certain markets.
I try to do this when I go to redbox. I try a couple of codes from other markets before I try one that I know works in mine and try to come back to report the results.
Just a suggestion.
I ran into a RedBox rep last week while renting a move. He was telling me that the typical RedBox can hold 500-550 movies. He also said that they will be entering the Kansas City, MO market soon. Just thought I would pass it along. Great Site!
Hey, great site! I haven’t had time to read through it all to see if this was already addressed, so this may be old news, but each time a holiday comes up there is a good chance that there will be limited time codes related to the holiday. Ex: on Christmas I just tried “Santa” for the heck of it, and the code worked for 5 free movies with one card swipe! It was working for about 3 weeks. Around Thanksgiving, “turkey” and “pilgrim” worked for a single rental. So people out there with imaginations, (and… ahem… a lot of spare time, hehe) think of any holiday related words and test ’em out if you’re bored. There my be more mega codes for more than one rental at a time around holidays. But thanx for putting in the work!
thnak you so much
Great work!! Since RedBox opened in SLC last summer I’ve only paid for 1 rental and probably have 50+ free rentals! :-)
It would be helpful if codes were organized by latest date used rather than score.
Thank you for all your excellent work in regards to this site.
How about the option to enter a *start date* for codes.. many dont start until a certain date, and there’s currently no way to enter that info..
Thanks!
Steve..
I Love redbox. The codes are really neat. We rent movies there all the time. Its awsome. The codes are a big help. We rent movies anytime for free. PLus you can turn them in anywhere. I don’t understand how it works but its pretty cool!
good site.. keep it up…
You are performing a great service to movie lovers such as ourselves. Thanks very much.
Would be nice to see some forums that “we” the users could post in. Be able to give out info, as well as help others.
Is St George Utah in the las vegas or salt lake city market?
Thanks!
What a great web site!!!! I know these things are not free and whenever I come across one I make it a point to help it in any small way I can. CLICK ON THE BANNER FOLKS. Let’s help him keep this site up and running! Thanx again for a site that truely is too good to be true.
Hello,
Excellent job on your redcode code self-udating website. Thank you so very much. Keep up the great work.
