If you’ve been following the Netflix class action suit, you know that the company was accused of violating its customers’ privacy by keeping records of its subscribers’ viewing habits years after they cancelled their service. A few months back, the settlement of $9 million reached in the case was approved by a judge. Now some Netflix users are complaining that they won’t receive any of the settlement money.

Since the July approval, millions of emails have been sent out to customers, and tens of millions of notification ads have been placed on Facebook.

More than 50 objection letters have been submitted, however, claiming that between third-party privacy groups and lawyers’ fees, there will be nothing left from the settlement for subscribers.

What do you think, Insiders? Should the legal system refuse to approve settlements that seem to benefit everyone except the “wronged” party?

Do you think the outcry from upset Netflix customers will grow loud enough to get the court’s attention?

Even if there is anything left? Ha!ha!.. What would it be. $10.00 $20.00 bucks maybe if that. Sorry it is just greed. The American way! Not going to worry about it! No need..
Really people! Be happy with what you got. It can be a lot worse!

They could have asked the judge to force Netflix to pay all legal fees. Other than that, no I don’t think Netflix should have to pay extra.

Frankly I think this whole lawsuit is stupid and Netflix did nothing wrong. I canceled my DVD plan (keeping Streaming) for 6 months and was HAPPY that they kept my queue intact when I signed up for DVDs again. If a million money grubbers cause Netflix to throw away that info the next time I do it, I’ll be happy that they put all that time and effort into it for nothing. Serves ’em right.
