Netflix, which has been on something of a tear lately, may be preparing to take its business to the next level by finally going international. The streaming and DVD by-mail giant has posted a Director of Product Management position on its website, and the job description could be indicative that the company is ready for quick and effective international expansion.
The job posting includes the following revealing description of the position’s primary duties:
• You will develop a deep understanding of the international considerations for Netflix, and will drive the Netflix team to clearly understand what work must be done, and in what order, to achieve international scale most quickly
• You will provide product leadership to the broad cross-functional team delivering the Netflix experience internationally
• You will work with your engineering, operations, marketing, customer support, and business development peers to develop, communicate and execute a high quality international Netflix service.
Any of you in the job market and have international experience, Insiders?

Assuming this posting does indicate such a direction, how quickly do you think Netflix could ramp up its international service under the direction of the right person?

looks like a job for John Small and FLON LOL
It is my understanding that they are not looking to expand their rent-by-mail service but only the streaming option. They got the digital rights to several extra countries in their last signings with the studios and they are looking at options to monetize those rights.
Netflix going international…That’s really amazing.
That’s really spectacular! Netflix going international? Wow!
Really?
