Last week we asked you what your favorite scary movie was. We got some awesome responses, so we have another scary movie-related question. Here’s this week’s spooky Monday Movie Madness question:
Who (or what) is the scariest movie character of all time, and why?
With so many people making great comments in our contests, we’ve decided to double your odds of winning! We will randomly select TWO winners from the submitted comments, each of whom will receive two free movie passes from Fandango to help chase away the Monday blues (by seeing a scary movie, if you want!). Multiple comments will disqualify you, as always, so please respond just once.
Good luck and have fun, Insiders!

The pinhead guy from Hellraiser. Had nightmares after watching it!
Vincent Price, did it great and without the gore
For me ‘Alien’ is worst.
the paranormal activty girl
Arachnophobia has always been the scariest movie I have ever seen. Spiders that kill the human race FREAK me out. I will never forget that movie EVER.
CARRIE
The scariest has to be the Alien from “Alien”! She could just keep producing more and more of them!
Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs
eraserhead!
Hanibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs. Scarey and smart are a lethal combo
The dog suit guy in The Shining, because unlike the book it’s not explained. That freaky randomness creeps me out.
Most definitely, HANNIBAL Lecter. C*R*E*E*P*Y!!
Jack Nicholson in The Shining. Still gives me the creeps.
Jack Nicholson in The Shining. Can’t you just imagine your own maniacal father chasing you through a hedge maze with an ax when you watch it?
Bela Lugosi
Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs was the scariest character to me.
Definitely the corpsetaker from Phantasm
The ‘Alien’ from Aliens.
the little zombie girl in the 1st episode of the “Walking Dead” that sheriff deputy shot in the head.
The flying monkeys & the witch in the Wizard of Oz. They did when I was a kid and I still think about that when I see it now! LOL
The Stay Puff Marshmellow Man from Ghostbusters. He was so dang HUGE !!
Possessed Regan from the Exorcist. Gave me nightmares as a child!! Still very scary
“It” by Stephen King any movie that has killer clowns scares me to death.
The scariest movie I can remeber that really creeped me out was Carrie!! She really scared me for years!!
TROG-so creepy !
Years ago, around 1960 or 1961, there was a really scary movie titled “Mr Sardonicus”, about a man who had to dig up his fathers grave to get something in his pocket, and the grave had been invaded by a ghoul. He
saw his father’s half-eaten corpse, and was scared so bad he had a ear-to-ear
death grimace face, horrible shot of teeth, basically no lips from his nose to partway down his chin. It scared me so much, at about age 11 or so, I bolted from my seat and ran from the theatre. It was years before I could watch that movie again! That’s my scariest movie moment!
Freddy Krueger because he can turn your dream into your worst nightmare and he can kill you while you sleep.
Freddy Kruger! The weekend after I watched the first movie, I got on the bus to go to school and I kid you not my bus driver Vern looked like him! I was so freaked out, but Vern was the sweetest guy ever!
The body snatchers because they are just creepy!
Chucky… I hate his evil stare
The girl from The Ring crawling out the well and out of tv. The way she moved was creepy
I think the girl who was possessed in The Exorcist is the scariest! I just couldn’t get her out of my head when I watched this movie!
Hannibal Lechter hands down- all too realistic.
Body snatchers because the pod people look just like the regular people – can’t tell them apart.
Though he wasn’t the main villain, Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs is a really creepy guy… but yeah, Hannibal Lecter, scariest character.
The grudge kid/face, what was even more scary was the noise it made. I worked at a movie store and every time the trailer came on and I was by myself I FREAKED out. It was a SUPER FREAKY noise!!
TARANTULA!!! Hairy, lethal-stinging spider. Creepy at any size. (8) hands down!
Jigsaw’s creepy clown!! I still have nightmares about it!!
Curt Duncan, the asylum escapee, in the original When a Stranger Calls (1979)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre guy, Leatherface. He was huge and wearing other people’s faces while chasing people with a chainsaw. Plus the entire family was creepy. Makes you never wanna get lost in a small town.
