Last week we asked you what your favorite scary movie was. We got some awesome responses, so we have another scary movie-related question. Here’s this week’s spooky Monday Movie Madness question:

Who (or what) is the scariest movie character of all time, and why?

With so many people making great comments in our contests, we’ve decided to double your odds of winning! We will randomly select TWO winners from the submitted comments, each of whom will receive two free movie passes from Fandango to help chase away the Monday blues (by seeing a scary movie, if you want!). Multiple comments will disqualify you, as always, so please respond just once.

Good luck and have fun, Insiders!

the werewolf in “An American Werewolf in London”. I do not like watching any werewolf movie to date because of this movie.

The girl from “the Exorcist”, because it seemed like it could happen “for real” versus some made up SCI FI monster movie.

The alien from the movie ALIEN, because you never knew when or where it was going to appear … or what it would look like when it did appear.

The scariest character to me is the chainsaw mssacre because it could actually happen in real life which freaked me out and then I went to a haunted house that featured him also and I ran like crazy screaming. There was other characters but him I remember the most.

I would have to say Freddie Krueger because everyone has to sleep, and that is when he will get you.

Pennywise the clown from “It”. Need I say more? He’s an evil freaky clown!! He’s probably responsible for most of the the populations phobia of clowns. :-)

The scariest for me was and is still is “Freddy Kruger” Nightmare on Elm Street, I had nightmare thinking that Freddy was chasing me all the time…and it was the same dream all the time I always woke up crying..but that didn’t stop me to watch them again…and all of the part of the movie..but I couldn’t watch them by myself..:-0 ( I think I hear the furnace on in the basement…oops!)

The odious Count Orlok (Dracula) from the original 1922 movie Nosferatu (vampire) scared the BEJEZZUZ out of me when I was young. Orlok’s sinisterly animated body movements, along with his macabre face and abhorrent alien-like fingers, make Orlok the one fiend who is indelibly burned into my cinema-psyche. Obviously, I need those free Fandango passes so I can go get some comforting cinema-therapy!

I was like 8 yrs old and I remember my parents watching the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre. They made me close my eyes during the killing scenes but i couldn’t help watching. This movie had me up for weeks and I was never able to watch it again. It was extremely freaky and something I will never forget. Definitely the scariest movie I ever saw!

I know this is going to sound lame, but one of the scariest movie characters to me is Sid, the evil neighbor kid from Toy Story. I am with “Rex” on his worst fear!

It definitely has to be “The Tall Man” from Phantasm. He still creeps me out.

CHUCKIE is evil personified. I had to take out stuffed toys from my kids bedrooms in case the toys come alive and hurt them.

    Who? Candyman.
Why? It’s been so long since I’ve seen the movie – I’m remembering that it’s because of his deep voice.
(also, wasn’t this the movie where spiders hatched out of a woman’s cheek?)

Tim Curry played “The Lord of Darkness”, in the 1986 movie “Legend”. His large horns, and tight fiery red skin, still give me the chills!! He was amazing in that role.

The scariest movie I ever saw was the Exorcist. I was dating my husband at the time and we went to see this movie on a date. The whole theater was completely quiet after the movie was over, while we were all walking out silently. Being a Christian and fearing the devil scared us out of our wits. Linda Blair looked so demonic! Watching it many years later, it still scares me.

Pennywise the clown from Stephen King’s IT , cause clowns are creepy period … but this movie freaked me out when I was a child more than an other horror flick of the 80’s.

Freddy Krueger! I don’t scare easily, but the fact that he’s able to penetrate your dreams is frightening! It’s the one time people are so completely vulnerable, while they are sleeping!

The girl from The Ring! The way she moves so quickly and her dirty, greasy hair freaks me out! Seriously, the fast movement is a creepy thing to me.

Hannibal Lector, he was calm and very sincere until you crossed him. Whats worse than dying because you had your face chewed off or tongue bitten out? Tell me that Clarice……

The ghosts in “13 Ghosts” because that’s the first time I ever saw the really fast, head twisting action! Ewww! The same type action was used in “The Ring.” A very close second is the scene in “Poltergueist” where the dude gets the drumstick out of the fridge and it has maggots in it so he goes in and washes his face but when he looks in the mirror his face is coming off in his hands! That’s so GROSS!!!
