Salt – There are so many predictable, over-rated movies today. This was the best one that I have seen in a long time.

Just go with it. How can you not die laughing at the eyebrow lady? If you haven’t seen it, watch it and bring some tissue because you will be crying from laughing so much.

“The Magic Trip” which is a documentary about Ken Kesey and the historic bus trip across the USA to go to the New York World’s fair. Fun film with an amazing soundtrack!

“The Help”. We read the book for a book club, and could not wait for the movie. However when you know the book is ALWAYS better than the movie, the trailor made it look like it was more modern and a comedy, and with such anticipation, it didn’t stand a chance!!!…but to my surprise it far surpassed by expections. I did not cry while reading the book, but the movie moved me. It was so true to the book and almost more expressive of the time and racial tension back then. Just like so many people I was REALLY pleased with the way they did it. You laugh, cry, are assamed of your feeling, hate some of the characters and totally fall in love with others. But nothing beats the joke about the pie!!!

“Water for Elephants”. I read the book and was anxious to see how they made a movie of it, with all of those animals, etc.

“The Help” I thought it was good to see a movie about how oppressive discrimination was … and realize it wasn’t that many years ago. And realize we still have a long way to go to embrace “equal rights” in the United States.

On Dvd, Salt was my fav. So unpredictable! And Angelna doing her own stunts added to the believability of this great action drama.

In theatre, Green Lantern. Ryan Reynolds. Do u really need another reason? Okay…Best CGI hero costume EVER!

Call me nutty but I like “DRIVE ANGRY” with Nicolas Cage and “Piper” (Amber Heard). A good action and humerus flick. I don’t recall but very little filth, in one part. I alwayse like Cages and Kevin Michael Costner movies. Warning this is for adults only, (should be over 18 years old)…

The Tree of Life – beautiful, overwhelming, enigmatic, passionate, confounding (but in a good way). It approaches what the philosophers have called “the sublime.” I’ve never seen a movie quite like it before (at least not since 2001: A Space Odyssey) and it’s an experience I won’t soon forget.

Rise of the Planet of Apes! This sci-fy movie was really good! I love how it explains how chimpanzees, great white apes, and Orangatans took over the Earth. But it’s ironic how the human race was wiped out, not by other apes, but by a virus that themselves made. You sew what you reap. Loved this movie from beginning too end.

I liked “Win Win”, though I wish they would cut out all the cursing, as it would otherwise be an excellent family movie.

My favorite was Johnny Depp’s Pirates 4 movie. Jack Sparrow is such an awesome character. I was nervous since it had a new “crew” of actors, but i was enthralled within 15 minutes of the show’s start.

It would have to be Captain America… it had that perfect blend of comic book geekiness, good story and acting, fannish nods to the true believers out there… and, of course, the talented Hugo Weaving to top it all off!

Winnie The Pooh, it was soo cute! Normally I would of said one of the great action movies that came out but I chose Winnie because my son loved it so much. He is almost 2yr & this was his first movie at a theater. Not only was it a great movie that kept both our attention but its one I will always remember & the ticket stubs are in his babybook :)

    Thanks,
    Farrah

My favorite move this summer was Captain America. It was action packed and fun as well. I think Tommy Lee Jones stole the show with his dry humor. This movie has me excited about The Avengers next summer.

Harry Potter – The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 because it was an amazing end to an incredible series. It made me feel so many different emotions all at once. It was also very well done in every aspect from sound to cinematography.

My favorite of the Summer was “Super 8” – it really felt like the old Spielberg (Goonies, etc). Loved it. Also really enjoyed the final “Harry Potter”. It was actually a great Summer for movies compared to recent years which have been pretty lame.
