nightmare on elm street
texas chainsaw massacre
the original omen
Not really a horror film per se, but the movie Cat’s Eye terrified me to no end as a child. I saw it when I was very young and it really impacted me – this while I was completely unphased by Poltergeist. The third act was about a troll that lived in the walls of a little kid’s room and came out at night to steal her breath. I slept face down and with the covers over my head for years after that.
The scariest movie for me was the 1981 movie, The Funhouse, because I hate clowns.
I’,m going with The Thing (1982)
only because I haven’t seen the new one yet
To me the Decent was the scariest movie…being stuck underground with creep things would not be fun.
“Psycho” is the scariest movie of all time. It is the only movie that got me up out of my seat and out of the movie theater.
If you’ve never seen “Nosferatu” you’re missing the scariest, creepiest Count Dracula movie ever made.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
I think the scariest movie of all time is “The Exorcist” (the original one of course) I couldn’t even watch it when it 1st came out cause it was so scary!!
The Shining was the creepiest and scariest of all time.
Hellraiser
The Shining, hands down
the happening
There are so many…but ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ definitely stands out.
The Exorcist for sure.
“Here’s Johnny”!!! the Shining, was by far, the best scary movie ever. REDRUM, REDRUM, REDBOX!!! lol
The Ring
“Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer” gave me nightmares for at least a week!
Pet cemetery
After seeing Friday the 13th I won’t watch any scary movies. So, for me, it was the scariest movie I ever saw.
For me, the scariest movie of all time was the original “Carrie”. At the end during the cemetary scene, I about had a heart attack!
I have to pick Jason…. any of them! Something about that hockey mask freaks me out!! I can’t watch!!
It would obviously have to be the exorcist. If you take into consideration the time when it was released, it’s ground breaking special effects at the time, the way the story line is taken, all the rumors and speculation of what happened to cast after the movie and the fact that to this day it still scares the life out of people; It makes it the scariest or most effective movie at “making people sleep with their lights on” movie.
Alien
Paranormal Activity
Nightmare On Elm St…didn’t want to go to sleep after I saw it.
The hills have eyes. I still have nightmares!!
The Hills Have Eyes
The Hannah Montanna Movie
Psycho
Don’t be afraid of the Dark… the original. Scared the CRAP out of me. The star was a grown woman but no one believed her. The little creatures hurt people, were VERY strong and U G L Y! and, in the end.. they got her, dragged her to the basement and dropped her down the furnace… and she became one of them. The remake was scary to me too… but I am grown now and not afraid of little people under the bed (I say that… but then I sometimes wake in the night, hear a strange noise… and can’t get back to sleep until I make sure I’m covered up head and ears [everyone knows the boogy man can’t get you if you’re completely covered up!])
The scariest movie for me is Blair Witch Project due to the “it could happen to me” factor.
Saw hand down
The “Alien” movies all kept me from sleeping for a long time.
The “SAW” movies!!!!!!
the shining!!
black swan. :)
For me, The Shining.
