10/25/11 Update
Congratulations to Ness, our winner! We’ll be in touch shortly about your prize.
The one that freaked me out the most when I was a kid was the original Amityville Horror.
Scariest movie to me was The Ring! I think it was mostly because the trailers the put out before hand didnt show a whole lot so basically you knew nothing!
Halloween.
Friday the 13th.
Psycho
scariest movie to me was Trilogy of Terror the 3rd story prey is wat did it for me and my twin when we were bad at age 2-3 my parents made us watch it lol now we are horror movie freaks :D
I agree Trilogy of Terror–just for the image at the end
The Exorcist really freaked me out back in the day.
Oh I agree The Exorcist is super scary!!!!
Halloween, easily. Just the mystery in the original film really creeped me out.
Not so much that they are scary but I like the Saw movies.
It…I have hated clowns ever since.
I don’t watch too many scary movies. Worst one I have actually seen was Candyman.
The Shining
The Changeling
My Bloody Valentine (1981)
Jaws
THe oringinal Nightmare On Elm. ST
Without a doubt, The Exorcist scared me like no other movie …
The Thing
The first A Nightmare on Elm Street with Freddy Krueger because he can kill you in your dreams. That meant you can’t go to sleep or else he will murder you.
Let me in
The Shining
Tod Browning’s “Freaks” (1932)

This movie actually made me feel ill. Maybe the *sickest* movie of all time. At least it made me feel sick. :(.
No matter how many times I have seen it, it still gives me the creeps. I can’t even watch without getting a belly ache and feeling like I am going to hurl.
I dunno. I’ve never actually seen a movie that’s legitimately ‘scared’ me. I will not deny that the paranormal activity series has had many moments that made me jump, and made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. maybe it’s because of the reality base of it? the whole ‘someone filmed this with a handheld’ craze that started with the blair witch project.
The Mist has got to be the scarest!!! The breakdown of humanity and the horrific ending.
The Amityville Horror was scarey when I was young.
Jaws still has me staying out of the water!
Saw, lots of surprises and unique for it’s day
I totally agree with the Exorist!
the scariest movie of all time has to be ZOMBIE(1979) between the goreific make up effects and the realistic canabilism this movie scarred the hell out of me when i was a kid
Silence of the Lambs, this was a movie that could possibly happen in real life!
Alien; there was one thing after another that was truly scary. The discovery of the Alien ship with the pods, when the pods opened, when the alien “hand” creature launched and wrapped around the face, the chest busting scene and finally the alien stowaway attack when Ripley was trying to escape. More truly scary scenes than any movie I’ve ever seen.
The Shining…the original one by Kubrick. Those little girls standing at the end of the hall telling Danny to come play with them forever and ever and ever scared the bejesus out of me!
Psycho!
Nightmare on Elm Street
I love The Night Of The Living Dead, for it’s story and great character. The make-up is not good obviously because the date it was produced, but the B&W hide all of it. To be honest, Dawn Of The Dead makes me cry with the horrible make-up and bad acting of the extras (zombie).
Scream – it was fun to watch with others who haven’t seen it. You could really get the screams going!
The paranormal movies seem to take the cake. I can barely handle the previews!
Faces of Death
