To get a list of the latest codes via SMS text message, do the following:
- Text the words “insideredbox codes” to DOTCOM (368266)
There is no fee for this from InsideRedbox, of course, but standard text messaging rates do apply.
Also note that you can get the latest news by texting “insideredbox news” to the same number.

Don’t forget that you can also sign up for “insider updates” here, look on the upper right of this page, it will e-mail you codes on both code days.
If you want to get it on your phone, call or go to your cell phone provider’s web site and find out how you can receive e-mails to your phone. Usually it’s something like phone number @ tmobile.com or something like that.
how often are the codes texted to you? I have only received codes when I first signed up, none since.

I can’t text to the number given. I have MetroPCS as my cell phone provider and to make calls or send texts I must have a full 10 digit phone number. Is there another way to sign up to get the codes via text message/email?

Forgot to say I am in Texas and these codes worked at a Walgreen and Walmarts for me this week..
Except 1234 or 12345 or 123456 are INVALID.
So is NONE.

I am new to insideredbox. I used my first code yesterday – worked like a charm thanks! Can anyone tell me what time they post the new codes? I am trying to get another movie tonight and yesterday’s code is still up… I tried to do the text thing and it wouldn’t go through… NEED MOVIES, lol

the Wed. code is over. It was a special promotion that ran in March and only for the first week of April. Moot point, but no, only the Monday sms code is available from Redbox sent via text.

Buy a Walmart credit card…… Use for all codes until exausted. Drop card and get another.
Cost $3.00 for card + 25.00 minimum on card. Activate….. Don’t wait for permanent.
Use all codes available. I used 14 before I ran out of codes. Then got remaining off of card thru walmart purchase and cash advance.
Must do this before 10 days or they will charge your account the $3.00 service fee.
Don’t reply and call me dishonest if you use the codes to get free movies.
Is that a Visa gift card? I haven’t been able to get a gift card to work and other people have reported the same.

Not a gift card. The VISA card. Like the one in the commercials.
You have to activate the card. Nothing says you have to keep the card or there is a limit. I have activated about 10 cards now and haven’t had a problem.
Just for the details. I buy the WALMART Visa card. It cost me $30.00 up front…
I then take it home to activate.
Goto to REDBOX Kiosh and select movies.
Use BREAKROOM , MYBUDDY, PAPERBOY, ZCKM7XT, REDBOX one at a time
Bring them back the next day…..
Do again with DVDONME, DVDATWAG 4HYVEE5 1234 WALGREENS
Bring them back the next day ….
Do again with any new codes I can find ….. Try all codes again
When codes exhausted on that card. Clean all funds from card and close card.
Warning to everyone… You must close card before the $3.00 charge date and you must not remove any funds you made charges with the card. That would get you in trouble for fraud.
1. The codes allow you to get a movie for free
2. The disposable card allows you to use the card but you must activate it under your name and you must not commit fraud.
3. You must find enough movies in the REDBOX kiosh to offset the cost of the card. If you kept the card for a month and used 10 codes, you would have gotten 4 free movies for your trouble.
If that is too much trouble,. then stick to the 1 or 2 free codes a week
Its just a way to get more movies at one time.

Question: If codes like paperboy, mybuddy, 1234, etc. haven’t worked for me in my area/state when using my regular credit or bank issued debit cards, will these codes likely work when I’m using this prepaid disposable Walmart visa moneycard? You always pay the $3 issue price up front for this card, correct? What is the $3 service fee you’re talking about that in order to avoid you must close the card within 10 days.? Do they always charge that $3 service fee after 10 days whether you use the card or not?
Look at what it says when it tells you on the screen that the code is “invalid”.
Look at the screen and read what it says after you enter the code.
You haven’t even swiped your card yet, how can the computer inside the box know what card you are holding in your hand?
And, when you people test a code and report it here, add a comment saying if it was INVALID, or “not valid at this LOCATION”.
The key words to look for are INVALID —– OR —— LOCATION, that’s all you have to look for. It’s not a speed reading test.
Do not just say “it didn’t work”.
Car,… Fact is I asked before , without answer, if anyone knows why sometimes first thing I do is press ‘using a promo code’ and then punch in the promo code and IMMEDIATELY it says invalid, PROMO CODE ALREADY USED, not good at this location, etc. Other times I punch in ‘ using a promo code’, then punch in the promo code, it ACCEPTS IT/promo code– thus the screen with the dvd choices comes up, I choice a dvd, the screen then says $1.00 minus promo code of $1.00 for balance of zero. It then says swipe your card. I do. It then says put in your zip, I do–AND THEN, THEN, THEN IT SAYS PROMO CODE ALREADY USED–after it had already accepted the promo code, let me select a dvd, showed up on the screen as a zero balance using the promo code. So why only AFTER, AFTER, AFTER I’ve swiped my card and put in zip does it say promo code already used WHEN I KNOW I’VE NEVER USED THE CODE BEFORE. Only codes, other than Monday/ Wed codes, that always worked for me in Western Pa have been Redbox, Breakroom, and Dvdonme. This is why I wasn’t sure if for SOME UNKNOWN REASON that this Walmart visa moneycard might be different (maybe not card or ZIPCODE sensitive) that for some promo codes like paperboy and mybuddy (that seem to always work for others around the U.S ) that when I punch these codes in, it accepts them, and it takes me all the way almost to the end where I’ve chosen a dvd, displays out a zero balance b/c promo code used, I SWIPE MY CARD and punch in ZIPCODE –AND THEN , THEN , THEN it retracts and says ‘promo code already used’–AGAIN, this is AFTER I’ve swiped my card. So why does this happen? Which is why I was asking if these more general Walmart disposable visa moneycards, for whatever reason ,might also work on codes like mybuddy, paperboy,etc AFTER it seemingly accepts these promo codes, chosen a dvd, screen reads zero balance, and AFTER I’ve swiped the walmart visa moneycard and punched in zipcode–instead of then retracting and saying promo code already used. Unless you have around 10 codes THAT YOU KNOW WILL ALWAYS WORK within 10 days time, seems like the WM visa card would be more of a hassle/$3 than it’s worth. WHICH IS WHY because I don’t know why sometimes it’s been accepting promo codes from me, gives out a zero balance b/c promo code used, and THEN retracts AFTER I’ve swiped card, screen comes up to punch in zip, punch in zip AND THEN RETRACTS that promo code already used–I’m thinking maybe when people share codes that have worked for them they should also include zip where it’s worked that we could then punch in that exact zip. Why else would it be accepting a shared promo code and my card AND ONLY AFTER it asks for zip and I punch in zip does it retract and say promo code already used? Very lengthy blog, sorry. Just this inquiring mind wants to know.

Thanks for the clarification, the codes like DVDONME or BREAKROOM only work once per CC. If they worked all the time Redbox would go broke.
The only way they know what CC you are going to use is by you swiping it, then the computer looks it up to see if you have used that code before. That’s why you have to swipe your card and enter a ZIP.
Think about it, how else could they limit it to one use per CC?
Yes, the Walmart Visa card would probably work for those codes because it would be like a new customer as far as the Redbox computer is concerned. So use REDBOX first as a code.
Like you, I don’t think the fees you have to pay for the card make it worth it.
There’s an easier way and I posted it before, go get a gmail account and get a free code.

Delivery failed: general problems. I have metropcs and I have found that I cannot subscribe to things through them so this may not be a problem with Insideredbox.

Who do you mean by “they”? The real Redbox? or this site, which HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE REAL REDBOX COMPANY!!! If you mean the real Redbox website, you should receive a code within 24 hours.
