Romantic comedy seemed to be the preferred genre for Redbox customers nationwide this year.

The list of the top ten most-rented movies at Redbox is after the jump.
1. “Just Go With It”
2. “No Strings Attached”
3. “Rango”
4. “The Dilemma”
5. “Due Date”
6. “Despicable Me”
7. “The Tourist”
8. “The Lincoln Lawyer”
9. “The Green Hornet”
10. “I Am Number Four”
Obviously, movies from non-delay window studios and movies that came out earlier in the year had an advantage. Are you surprised by the titles on this list? Any other movies that you thought should have been more popular rentals?

Just goes to show there is NO accounting for taste.
As I told Steve Jobs once…
“If it weren’t for bad taste… You’d have none at all” ;)
It’s actually pretty interesting as to what’s not on the list. Essentially the $1.20 price tag invites rentals of weaker titles that consumers won’t pay to see in the theater and/or rent for $5 from cable. And here all the execs thought that redbox was hurting sell through. Some of these rentals are clearly ‘found’ money to hollywood even if they won’t admit it.
Agreed! ;)
Where is Friends with Benefits?
Its a rom/com available at redbox and got good reviews.

OMG….this could easily be the list of the WORST MOVIES of 2011-with the exception of Rango and Lincoln Lawyer. Absolute crap.
American taste is doomed.
What was wrong with the Lincoln Lawyer? I rather enjoyed it and 84% of critics and 82% of the public agreed on Rotten Tomatoes.
